The e107mobile Theme and Plugin is a way to create a fully accessible website via a mobile phone. Using a normal PC, your e107 website will default to the the theme(s) you use for guests or members. The pluging will detect if a visitor is using a mobile device and if so, it will defaul to the e107mobile theme!

If you currently use the e107mobile plugin, you will know that it uses Google tools to render your website with usually strange effects depending on your site content. Sometimes is difficult to log in, and even harder to post in the forum. This method stays within your website and does not rely on any external code or websites. If you're considering switching from the e107mobile plugin, just install and select the UPGRADE button.

Viewing with a mobile phone..

When using the e107mobile Theme and Plugin you can login or view as guest (normal user/guest permissions apply), post comments, full forum access, posting, quick reply etc, download section, user settings, profile editing/viewing and even site registration!

Mobile phone browsers generally have very small screens, and may cost a fortune to browse full websites. This method strips certain content so you only see the main parts of the site with minimal file size. Therefore it omits side menu areas but keeps the main site links for browsing. It strips images from news items and replaces the site logo with text resulting in a much smaller and easy to view mobile optimised page.

To see this in action, I recommend viewing this website from a mobile phone or device. Just enter the website through the normal URL, no need to bother with subdomains or strange redirects like other websites.

This requires the e107mobile theme and plugin....

Just install these in the usual e107 way! You may delete the e_meta.php file from this plugin as its not used any more.
